Head Coach Bill Beumer
(Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers)
Coach Beumer played football for Grissom from 1979 - 1982. He volunteer coached for Grissom from 1984 - 1986 while attending UAH. He also coached at Chapman Middle School in 1987 - 1988. After receiving his B. S. in math from UAH, he took a job with Young Life. He worked for Young Life for several years in Columbus GA and Memphis. After receiving his Masters Degree in Math Education, he took a job as a math teacher at Grissom in 1998. He was an assistant freshman football coach in 2002 and 2004, and has served as head freshman coach since 2005. |

Coach Shelby Hunter
(Assistant Coach)
Coach Hunter is entering his 5th year at Grissom High School where he teaches US History. Coach Hunter is entering his first season as an assistant Coach with the freshman program. Coach Hunter also is the Head JV baseball Coach and an assistant with the varsity. Coach Hunter is a 1995 graduate of Lee High School. Upon his graduation he received a baseball scholarship to Snead State Community College, and then received a baseball scholarship to Alabama A&M University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Social Science. Coach Hunter coached Baseball at Buckhorn High School 2002-2003. Then he returned to Lee High School as a History teacher, where he coached football and baseball 2003-2004. Coach then taught History at Hazel Green High while coaching baseball for the 2005 season. In 2006 he began teaching and coaching at Grissom High School.

Coach Bill Coggins
(Defensive Backs)
Coach Coggins graduated from Grissom High School in 1981. He was a running back and defensive end for the 1980 Grissom team that advanced to the finial four in the state playoffs. He attended Auburn University where he received a degree in Industrial Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy as an FA-18 pilot from 1986-1996. Bill and wife Lee have two children: Lauren and Sarah. This is his fourth year as a volunteer coach for the freshman team.

Head Trainer Carter Forge MS, ATC
(Employed by SportsMed Orthopeadic Surgery and Spine Center)
A Huntsville native, Carter played both soccer and baseball at Huntsville High School. He attended Troy State University and received a B.S. in Athletic Training. Carter also received his Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Mississippi State University. He is married to the former Michelle Ross. They have two sons Walker (5), and Truman (3) and a daughter named Jane Wyatt(1). Employed by SportsMed Orthopeadic Surgery and Spine Center, Carter will be starting his 8th year at Grissom as their Athletic Trainer. |
